Michael Theologou
Prof. Michael E. Theologou was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1949. He received the degree in Electrical Engineering from Patras University in 1972 suma cum laude, coming first in his class. He got his Ph.D. degree from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 1990. During 1972- 1974 he worked in the Research Centre of Greek Army. From 1975 to 1991 he had been working as a Telecommunications Engineer in the Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation (OTE), Department of Wireless Transmission. At OTE he gained a wide experience in all facets of the Telecom Industry. He has carried out many successful projects there. In parallel he served as an instructor at NTUA teaching Telecom Courses and conducting the Telecom System Laboratory. Since 1991 he is with the National Technical University of Athens, where currently he is an Assistant Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering, teaching and making research in the wider area of Telecommunication Systems.
His research interests are in the fields of Indegrated Broadband Communication Networks, Network Management and Quality of Service in broadband communications, Mobile and Personal communications. He has several publications in the above areas. He has participated in several RACE projects: R1043 Mobile, R1022 Technology for ATD, R1044 (Customer Service Functions) CSF, R1024 NETMAN, R2059 ICM, R2116 TOMQAT, R2066 MONET (where he is a work-package leader). Dr Theologou is a member of the IEEE and the Technical Chamber of Greece.
